The brand was inspired when the Founder (Cory) who was serving as a Guide for a Christian Kids Camp discovered a child crying alone under a swing set. He knelt down and asked if the boy wanted to talk. He nodded yes, and slowly began to explain, “I was practicing gymnastics and the other children started making fun of me, calling me names and pushing me around. They told me I was more like a girl.” Cory took a moment and responded to the boy saying, "I want you to know something… God made you out of the ordinary. You are uniquely designed, and it is okay to be different than others. The child then took a moment and repeated out loud, "God made me out of the ordinary." The two then traveled to a workshop where the founder had the idea of designing out of the ordinary hats (as shown in the picture) to hand out at camp. They handed out hats and told the OOTO story. Soon everyone at camp was declaring, “Be OOTO!” We sponsor kids just like this boy by paying a full ride for them to experience Jesus through the love and support of Christian Leaders. We also provide aid to our local churches.
